Subject - Developing watchpoints for the Clyde area's most dynamic species
This month's talk centres on the development of watchpoints on a range of iconic and on occasion, hard to see species. There is an emphasis on highlighting research, conservation, and fieldwork opportunities for all irrespective of mobility levels, age and wherever possible, providing these opportunities for free. The talk will also look at the birding developments for both species and birders with a positive look forward into 2024.
Speaker - John Simpson - A SOC member since 1979, a former Chair and council member. Current Local Recorder and involved with the Central Scotland Raptor Study Group. Started the Bean Goose study and has been involved in ornithological recording in the Cumbernauld area and in currently in west Loch Lomond.

This is towards the Charing Cross end of Bath Street, close to the
King’s Theatre and Charing Cross railway station. Car parking should be available in the adjacent streets once the parking regulation hours have passed.
To cover the hall hire, we charge an entrance fee of £4 min. There will be no additional charge for the tea, coffee, and biscuits. The fee will be reduced to £2 for students and for others at the discretion of the committee. It would be very helpful if you could bring with you the exact change. We do not have any debit card handling facility.
