A Quail still calling near Balmore Pool from same field as before.
 
Friday 2 July 2021
A Red Kite flying high upstream at Merryton at 1130 hrs.
A juvenile Little Ringed Plover at the Endrick Mouth; nearby, five Ospreys between Inchcailloch and Balmaha.
Nine Shelducks at Carstairs Junction Bridge.
Five adult Little Ringed Plovers and a Green Sandpiper at Loudon Pond/Douglas Water Pool.

A  1st-summer/2cy Mediterranean Gull at Carbarns Pool, also a Green Sandpiper.
An unconfirmed report of a Yellow-legged Gull (no age given) at Gourock.
 
Sunday 4 July 2021
A Rose-coloured Starling briefly at the feeders in a private Bearsden garden early morning.
A Green Sandpiper at Balmore Pool, also an Osprey over early morning.
Three Ospreys over Balmaha.
 
Monday 5 July 2021
A Green Sandpiper and a Black-tailed Godwit on Balmore Pool.
Now 11 Shelducks by River Clyde at Carstairs Junction Bridge.

Unusually for this time of year off Arran. Three drake Common Scoters in Brodick Bay.

A Black-tailed Godwit at Carbarns Pool, also a female Whinchat; nearby, two Black-tailed Godwits and a Green Sandpiper at RSPB Baron's Haugh.

Now three Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh.
An Osprey, with fish, flying NE over Whinhill Reservoir.
From the Isle of Bute, a Pintail and three Gadwall on Greenan Loch and a Mandarin Duck on Loch Fad.

Two White-tailed Eagles being mobbed by a Golden Eagle and Buzzard at Glen Falloch, before flying off in the direction of An Caisteal

An Osprey mobbed by gulls in Lamlash Bay, Isle of Arran.
Now five Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh with four on the haugh and one on the river; nearby, 12 Purple Hairstreaks on Oaks at Easter Braes and Adder's Gill.

A Quail calling from barley at Largizean Farm, Isle of Bute (approx NS088552).
A Little Ringed Plover by River Clyde at Carstairs Junction Bridge, also four juvenile Shelducks.
Two Whimbrel, seven Greenshank, an Osprey  and unusually 39 Goosanders at Finlaystone Point; nearby, 15 moulting Goldeneye between Langbank and West Ferry.

Tuesday 27 July 2021
A male Ruff in heavy moult at Ardmore North Bay in the afternoon.
Three Little Ringed Plovers on the island at Balgray Reservoir, but very unusually an adult Water Rail with at least two downy chicks on the  south shore (first recorded breeding for the site and only the second known record in the last 40 years---and seen in 2002 by the same observer!).
The drake Scaup still on Barr Loch, RSPB Lochwinnoch with about 200 moulting Tufted Ducks.
