A good count of 33 Gadwall at Frankfield Loch.
Visible migration north of Pink-footed Geese included 2,000 over Balmore Pool and 550 over Ardmore Point, also 22 Whooper Swans resting on the Clyde estuary, and 500 over Great Cumbrae.
Four Sandwich Terns on the rocks at Blackwaterfoot, Isle of Arran.
Swallows are still scarce with only one recorded at Bardowie.

Records from Great Cumbrae included a Greenshank at White Bay, two Twite at Wine Bay and a Swallow at Bell Bay.

Migrants, in spite of the bleak weather, were recorded singing today with Blackcaps and Willow Warblers now widespread, also Common Sandpipers back on territory at various locations, but still only a handful of Swallows, including five at Dargavel Ponds, Bishopton and five at Balgray Reservoir, with them a few early House Martins including seven at Castle Semple Loch moving north in the evening, but an afternoon congregation of 900 Sand Martins at Strathclyde Loch and 100 at Castle Semple Loch is a welcome return; Tree Pipit at RSPB Loch Lomond is new.

A 2cy Mediterranean Gull at Fisherman's Walk, Brodick, Isle of Arran, also a Whimbrel, fitted with flag A2 in 2017, which has been sighted for five years in a row, has appeared on the shores around Kildonan; and yesterday an Osprey at Lamlash Bay.
16 Whimbrel at East Kerse Farm, Lochwinnoch, also still five tardy Pink-footed Geese.
From Great Cumbrae, four Whimbrel in White Bay and two Purple Sandpipers in Wine Bay.
Yesterday's sightings from Isle of Bute included 50 Golden Plovers and 15 White Wagtails in Ettrick Bay.

A Speckled Wood at Greenhead Moss, Wishaw (see below) is a rare sighting as this butterfly is only starting to move into Lanarkshire.

On the south side of the estuary, 10 Whimbrel at West Ferry, also 93 migrating Pink-footed Geese over Longhaugh Point and 32 Common Terns offshore.

East Loch Lomond continues to be very popular as observers report good numbers of Wood Warblers and Redstarts with Nuthatches now ubiquitous, although Tree Pipits seem a tad scarce; of note 13 reeling Grasshopper Warblers at Low Mains, Loch Lomond NNR.
