A good year for Wood Sandpipers in Clyde with another at Douglas Water Pool/Loudon Pond.
The drake Ring-necked Duck now apparently at Dawsholm Park, Glasgow.
A Lesser Whitethroat still in song at Merryton, best viewed from Carbarns side; nearby a drake Pintail at RSPB Baron's Haugh.
A Whimbrel at Longhaugh Point.
An Osprey over Balmore, and unusually a pair of Gadwall on Balmore Pool.
Four Common Crossbills in pines at Lanark Golf Clubhouse.

The drake Ring-necked Duck still on at Dawsholm Park LNR Pond, Glasgow.
A Lesser Whitethroat still in song at Merryton, best viewed from Carbarns side; nearby a drake Pintail at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also unusually a Cuckoo calling.
A Whimbrel, 15 White Wagtails and a Swift at Balgray Reservoir.
A good count of five singing Whinchats in Cowgill Glen between Birthwood and Cowgill Reservoir.
A Corncrake near Cranslagmory, Isle of Bute.

A 2cy Kittiwake briefly at Balgray Reservoir, also 13 White Wagtails.
Unusually an Oystercatcher over George Square, Glasgow.
A Wood Sandpiper again on Douglas Water Pool/Loudon Pond.

A Wood Sandpiper on the field pool at Waterlands Farm, Law, also a Common Sandpiper. (Please view from gate if visiting).
A drake Ring-necked Duck still on Kelvingrove Park Pond.
15 Whimbrel at Skate Point, Great Cumbrae.
Eleven Common Crossbills at BAE Systems, Bishopton.

A Wood Sandpiper again in the farm pool at Waterlands Road, Law. View from the gate only.
A female Ring-necked Duck at Castle Semple Loch off the car park in the morning and on the Barr Loch in the evening.
A drake Mandarin Duck on the scrape at RSPB Lochwinnoch.
Approximately 50 Whimbrel at the south end of the Barr Loch.

A Wood Sandpiper again in the farm pool at Waterlands Pools, Law. View from the gate only, the farmer is apparently unfriendly and aggressive.
A Green Sandpiper at Balmore Pool.
A Ring-necked Duck back at Dawsholm Park LNR pond.
A Spotted Flycatcher at Muirshiel Country Park this morning, also six Crossbills.
A Long-eared Owl at Palacerigg Country Park at 8:30pm.

The Ring-necked Duck now at Bingham’s Pond this morning.
A passage of Common Sandpipers was noted at Strathclyde Country Park early this morning with ten along a short stretch including a group of six that flew off together.
At least a dozen Swift over Strathclyde Loch this morning and one over Uddingston.
A Basking Shark in Millport Bay, Great Cumbrae.
At least 35 Whimbrel south-east of the Barr Loch in fields off minor road around Barrodger.

A Whimbrel at Ardmore Point.
Two Swift at Bishop Loch.
Unusually, two Gadwall on the River Clyde at Carstairs Junction, also four Shelduck.
 
Tuesday 10 May 2022
The drake Ring-necked Duck continues its tour of the west end, this morning back on the pond in Kelvingrove Park with its two accompanying Tufted Ducks.
A Spotted Flycatcher on the Aird Meadow Trail at RSPB Lochwinnoch.
 
Wednesday 11 May 2022
A drake Garganey briefly at Balgray Reservoir this morning.
Two singing Reed Warblers at Newshot Island.
16 Whimbrel on the new wader scrape at RSPB Lochwinnoch.
Five Whimbrel at Skate Point, Great Cumbrae.
Swifts seem to be widespread with one over Hyndland, seven over Milngavie, 48 over Bishop Loch, ten over Balgray Reservoir, two over Partick, and yesterday one over Carluke.
At Palacerigg Country Park, two Long-eared Owls and a Barn Owl hunting over the golf course

A Wood Sandpiper seen briefly but well flying up the White Cart Water in Crookston.
In South Lanarkshire, 20 Shelduck at South Medwin Pool and four on the Clyde at Carstairs Junction Bridge.

A small passage of migrant waders through Balgray Reservoir this morning with two Sanderling, seven Dunlin and six Ringed Plover.
27 Common Terns in the south bay at Ardmore Point.
 
Saturday 14 May 2022
An avalanche of reports today for the Clyde Big Birding Day. Difficult to pick out notable reports but the following stood out.
 
In South Lanarkshire, two Black Grouse (male) and a Red Kite.
Two Red Kites near Leadhills.
A pair of displaying Hen Harriers over the B797 between Abington and Leadhills.
A Green Woodpecker calling near Overtoun House.
Black Grouse (no number) on the Campsie lek site.
At Ardmore Point, four Red-throated Divers, one in summer plumage, and 10 Whimbrel, also an Osprey.
A Whimbrel and two Shovelers at RSPB Lochwinnoch.
A Pied Flycatcher between Crookston Road and Ben Lawers Drive.
A singing Reed Warbler at Newshot Island this morning.
 A Long-eared Owl along the West Highland Way at Carbeth/Duntreath Estate.

A Grey Partridge at Lumloch, Robroyston.
A drake Garganey, this morning at Town of Inchinnan Farm, in the afternoon at RSPB Lochwinnoch.
The drake Ring-necked Duck still present, yesterday at Dawsholm Park LNR Pond, today at Bingham's Pond.
Today's WeBS count at Ardmore Point produced 12 Turnstone, 25 Ringed Plover and 13 Dunlin along the shore and 13 Whimbrel and 5 Bar-tailed Godwit in the North Bay. Offshore, there were seven Red-throated Divers and a Great Northern Diver.

A Greenshank in the Crom Mhin Bay at Loch Lomond NNR, also, at least 120 Canada Goose chicks in creches and broods in the bay and in the Endrick Water at Ring Point.

Three Ospreys drifting over Balmaha.
An escape South African/Cape Shelduck with Canada and Greylag Geese at Balgray Reservoir is an unusual occurrence and a first for the recording area.
A Hooded Crow at Waterloo, Wishaw, is well out of range.
