The speaker will explain how to ID the species that breed in Scotland as well as listen to their songs and calls then say a little about how they live and their migrations
Speaker - Stan da Prato - Stan grew up in North Berwick and still lives in East Lothian. Stan is past president of the SOC and has been editor of it's quarterly journal Scottish Birds for since the 1970s. He has a Doctorate on warblers and habitat in the Lothians. Stan is Chairman of the Advisory Group for Aberlady Bay LNR, and a successful grower and exhibitor of alpine plants. He is also a judge for Beautiful Scotland /Britain in bloom. As well as Scottish Birds, Stan also edits The Caledonian Gardener. He enjoys visiting local groups like ours where he is often asked to speak on gardening, wildlife, and travels which so far have ranged from Antarctica to Greenland and the continents in between.

This is towards the Charing Cross end of Bath Street, close to the
King’s Theatre and Charing Cross railway station. Car parking should be available in the adjacent streets once the parking regulation hours have passed.
To cover the hall hire, we charge an entrance fee of £3 min. There will be no additional charge for the tea, coffee, and biscuits. The fee will be reduced to £1 for students and for others at the discretion of the committee. It would be very helpful if you could bring with you the exact change. We do not have any debit card handling facility.
