South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project
with Philip Munro Summary: The South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project aims to reinforce the small, isolated and vulnerable population of Golden Eagles in the Scottish Borders and Dumfries & Galloway. Through a series of translocations over a period of 5 years, we will look to increase numbers and prevent the loss of this majestic bird from Southern Skies. This talk will provide a brief introduction to the iconic golden eagle whilst exploring the background to the project and an update on our progress. Philip Munro studied countryside management at Oatridge College and then Sustainable Environmental Management at Edinburgh University before taking up the role of Estate Ranger on Sir Walter Scott's Abbotsford Estate in the Scottish Borders. Prior to working with the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project he was working for the Woodland Trust as assistant site manager in the Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire regions. |

To cover the hall hire, we charge an entrance fee of £3. There will be no additional charge for the tea, coffee, and biscuits.
