The main interest will be waders, seabirds including grebes, divers, wildfowl and gulls.
TRAVELLING:
Car journey - Allow around 45 mins from central Glasgow.
Public transport - train to Cardross, then bus to the end of the road down to Ardmore, then a 10 minute walk to the car park.
BOOKING INFO: We are not asking people to book, but it might be helpful if those attending could let David Palmar know if they are willing to offer a lift, or would like a lift, and are willing to share their contact details with people who offer or want a lift, it may be possible to arrange car sharing. TERRAIN:
The path round the peninsula has been improved and walking will generally be easy, although there are short sections which may be muddy.
OPTICS: Binoculars essential. Telescope will be useful for waterfowl and sea watching.
FOOTWEAR and CLOTHING: Walking boots and suitable outdoor clothing for the time of year and location. A check of the weather forecast beforehand is advisable.
NB: May be postponed due to poor weather. Check this page, SOC website and Clyde Birding on Twitter in advance.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Toilet facilities available at Ardardan Garden Centre which opens at 10am. Optionally, lunch or coffee available there after the outing.
Depending on circumstances there may be an additional opportunity for birding at Cardross in the afternoon.
