VENUE: Main outing - start at the end of Goose Green Cres, Mussleburgh (NT346734) near to the Scout Hut and next to the river Esk at 13.00.
The plan is to start at the River Esk mouth and then walk along the path beside the sea wall before moving on to the lagoons.
We should be at the lagoons at approx 15.00 which is around an hour before high tide.
The main interest will be passage waders, seabirds including grebes, divers, gulls and perhaps skuas as well as potential passage passerines.
OPTIONAL OUTING FOR EARLY BIRDS: Meet at 08.30 at the Torness Power Station visitors car park (NT748749)
The plan here is to explore the visitor car park bushes and the shore there for passage birds including passerines and waders.
Then move on to visit Skateraw followed by Barns Ness depending on birds and timing, then join the main outing.
