VENUE:
Meet at the Riverside Car Park along Kilpatrick Drive. From there we will walk up river to view Newshot Island from the LNR/nature trail.
We hope to see waders and Common Terns, plus there should be warblers, tits, and other songbirds around the nature trail. We may then cross a stile into a field and walk up to the reedbed but that will depend on if the group is happy to do that and whether the cattle are there. Once finished we will then head down river to Erskine Harbour and Boden Boo. We hope to see more waders at Erskine Harbour, and if the weather is good then we will check Boden Boo for Purple Hairstreak butterflies.
TRAVELLING:
Bus to Erskine:
McGill's bus no 22 from Niddry St, a 3 minute walk from Paisley Gilmour St station, leaving at 8.56 for Bridgewater Shopping Centre, Erskine, arriving at 9.30, then a 4 minute walk. Check bus and train times before travelling.
By car:
Free parking in riverside car park along Kilpatrick Drive, Grid reference NS47047086 or visit StreetMap or Google Maps.
From Erskine Bridge take A726 towards Erskine, go straight on at large roundabout, first left into Kilpatrick Drive, right at roundabout, past Pandamonium, then car park is on the left (north) side of the road.

TERRAIN: Clydeside footpath, then across a stile and a field. Walking boots advised.
OPTICS: Binoculars essential for passerines. Telescope will be useful for watching waders.
FOOTWEAR and CLOTHING: Walking boots and suitable outdoor clothing for the time of year and location. A check of the weather forecast beforehand is advisable.
