PRICE: Free

TIME:  08:30 - 16:30 (approx.), but you are free to leave earlier!

VENUE:
Meet at Aberfoyle Riverside car park (FK8 3UQ) for 08.30. There are toilet facilities and shops within the town of Aberfoyle. Depending on numbers it may be necessary to car share due to limited parking at various stop off points along the proposed route. We will then drive to Inversnaid hotel & car park (FK8 3TU). There are also toilet facilities at Inversnaid hotel. It is hoped we will make it to the Loch Katrine Pier Café, Stronlachar (FK8 3TY) where there will also be toilet facilities.

BOOKING INFO: We are not asking participants to book.

TERRAIN: Varied terrain suitable for most abilities with good quality walking shoes/boots. A moderate amount of walking is expected including a steep climb on well maintained paths.

OPTICS: Binoculars essential for woodland walks. Telescope will be useful for viewing surrounding hills and lochs.

FOOTWEAR and CLOTHING: Walking boots and suitable outdoor clothing for the time of year and location. A check of the weather forecast beforehand is advisable.
NB: May be postponed due to poor weather. Check this page, SOC website and Clyde Birding on Twitter in advance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The walk will be led by Donald Wilson, assisted by Sandy McNeil. The pace of the walk will be fairly relaxed and the ambience informal, with discussion and questions encouraged. The outing is suitable for birdwatchers of all levels.
Please bring a packed lunch.
BIRDS: Target species are Pied Flycatcher, Wood Warbler, Redstart, Cuckoo, Whinchat, Tree Pipit, other common summer migrants and resident woodland, freshwater and moorland birds.
