Clyde Big Birding Day - May 14th 2022

We hope that you enjoyed our Clyde Big Birding Day and managed to get out in the Clyde area on May 14th as part of Global Birding Day.  In 2021, over 7,000 species were recorded worldwide on that day by over 50,000 participants from 192 countries.

We were delighted to see so many of you were able to take part whether you
  • Just spent a few minutes watching and recording birds in your garden or in a park
  • Thoroughly birded your local patch on the day
  • Tried to see how many species you could record in 24 hours in the Clyde area on 14th May.
  • Thanks to those who set out to locate one of the scarce species in the Clyde (e.g. Ptarmigan, Green Woodpecker, Long-eared Owl, etc)

If you haven't done so already, we ask that you report your records from May 14th via:
  • BirdTrack (as soon afterwards as possible)
  • or, check the Recording and Reporting page on the website for other ways to report your sightings
  • If you have just a short list of birds seen, you can use the contact form too. Please remember that for you records, we need the four “W’s” (What species, Where, When [will be 14 May] and Who saw / heard it).

All records will be submitted to the database of birds recorded in the Clyde and you will be acknowledged.

If you have any questions you can also get in touch with us using the contact form.
