Subject - Getting the most out of BirdTrack
BirdTrack is an online recording platform for birds and other wildlife run by the BTO and partners including the SOC. Anyone can contribute their observations to this valuable dataset, which supports bird monitoring and conservation at local, regional, national and even international level.
The talk will start with an introduction to BirdTrack, covering what it does, how to use it and how the data is used. There will be a particular focus on the extra details that you can provide to maximise the value of your records for local bird recorders. This will be followed by a demonstration of the website and smartphone app with plenty of time for you to try them out yourself, so do bring along the device you use BirdTrack on if possible. This is a great opportunity to get stuck into BirdTrack, with David on hand to answer all your BirdTrack questions. The session is aimed at current users of BirdTrack keen to get to know it and its features better, but new users are also very welcome to attend.
Speaker - David Raffle is the SOC Birding and Science Officer. Originally from Newcastle, David studied Conservation Biology and Ecology at the University of Exeter before joining the SOC. He is a keen birder and particularly enjoys birding his local patch and getting involved in bird surveys.

The Venue - Partick Burgh Hall.
This is near Partick bus, underground and train station (see link for map). Car parking should be available in the adjacent streets e.g. Burgh Hall Street, Peel Street and Fortrose Street once the parking regulation hours have passed (currently after 6pm).
To cover the hall hire, we charge an entrance fee of £3 min. There will be no additional charge for the tea, coffee, and biscuits. The fee will be reduced to £1 for students and for others at the discretion of the committee. It would be very helpful if you could bring with you the exact change.
