Autumn passage of waders at RSPB Baron's Haugh included two Wood Sandpipers, five Green Sandpipers and 59 Black-tailed Godwits, also a female Gadwall with eight ducklings.

A single Black-tailed Godwit and two Mandarin Ducks on RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape.

Five Black-tailed Godwits at Loudon Pond, Douglas Water.
At RSPB Baron's Haugh, two Black-tailed Godwits and now 141 Lapwings
A 1st-summer Mediterranean Gull again at Balgray Reservoir.
A Little Ringed Plover, a single Black-tailed Godwit and three Mandarin Ducks on RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape, also 77 Lapwings.
 
Friday 4 July 2025
A Quail calling early morning from grazing marsh just east of Newshot Island.
At RSPB Baron's Haugh, still two Black-tailed Godwits and four Green Sandpipers (six yesterday evening), also now 143 Lapwings.
At RSPB Lochwinnoch, a Little Ringed Plover, a Black-tailed Godwit and Redshank chick now four weeks old.
The brood of seven Shelducks at South Medwin Pools growing well.
A Pine Marten in a Lennoxtown street is observer's first in 30 years.
 
Saturday 5 July 2025
Up to 45 Manx Shearwaters on the water off Cloch Point at 10.15, two hours later, 130 south past Wemyss Point, later, between 14.40-15.40, 78 south past Cloch Point.
An adult Kittiwake at Ironotter Point, Greenock, also good numbers of Guillemots with young.
At RSPB Baron's Haugh, three Black-tailed Godwits and a single Green Sandpiper, also six Common Sandpipers.
At RSPB Lochwinnoch, a Common Tern over Barr Loch early morning. Also on the Aird Meadow scrape, two Mandarin Ducks and still a single Black-tailed Godwit.
 
Sunday 6 July 2025
A minimum total of 141 Black-tailed Godwits, assumed failed breeders, still moving south with 26 at Ardmore, 11 at Longhaugh, 57 past Newshot, 20 on White Cart at Netherton Farm and 27 at Lochwinnoch.
Still two Reed Warblers singing at Newshot Island.
Eight Little Egrets returning to the estuary at Ardmore.
An Osprey at Longhaugh Point, also a Little Egret.
Some fledged juvenile Common Terns now at their colony at Bowling.
Three Mandarin Ducks at RSPB Lochwinnoch, also still a Little Ringed Plover and the Redshank chick with three adults.
A Barn Owl on a fence post at Carbeth at 01.00 am.

A Mandarin Duck at RSPB Lochwinnoch, also now 87 Lapwings and a Redshank chick with two adults.
Two colour-ringed Black-tailed Godwits yesterday at Aird Meadow were an adult male ringed in Terrington, Norfolk 04/09/2023 and an adult female ringed at RSPB Belfast Harbour 21/03/2021

A Wood Sandpiper, a Greenshank and six Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh.
Four Black-tailed Godwits and a Greenshank at Ardmore North Bay.
Four Red Kites and 31 Ravens at Lowther Hill-Green Lowther.
An Osprey over Aird Meadow, RSPB Lochwinnoch, also moult flock numbers beginning to build up on Barr Loch including 153 Mallards, 105 Tufted Ducks and 59 Mute Swans.
Lapwing flocks beginning to build up in South Lanarkshire including 145 at South Medwin Pools and 289 at Loudon Pond.
Two Crossbills at BAE Systems, Bishopton.
A Clouded Yellow NW, then NE through a Newton Mearns garden,
A Comma at the Range, Auldhouse Retail Park.

A Wood Sandpiper, a Greenshank and six Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also two Otters on River Clyde.
A juvenile Little Ringed Plover on RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape, also four eclipse drake Mandarin Ducks.
Two Ospreys at Burncrooks Reservoir.
Two Crossbills at Blythswood, Renfrew are observer's first record for the site.
A Small Skipper in Ruchill Park.

During WeBS, a summer-plumaged Knot at Langbank, also five moulting Goldeneye.
A Wood Sandpiper, two Greenshanks and four Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also three Black-tailed Godwits.

Purple Hairstreak colonies noted at Boden Boo and at far east end of Parklea.

A Spoonbill, an adult Little Ringed Plover, two Greenshanks and four Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also three Black-tailed Godwits.

A Spoonbill, an adult Little Ringed Plover, a Greenshank and five Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also three Black-tailed Godwits, six Common Sandpipers and a Gadwall with four small ducklings.
Two Little Ringed Plovers on the RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape.
Two Ospreys, a Green Sandpipers, 19 Ringed Plovers and five Common Sandpipers at Hillend Reservoir, Airdrie, also a large inland count of 13 Great Black-backed Gulls.

At RSPB Baron's Haugh, now nine Green Sandpipers, nine Common Sandpipers and 178 Lapwings, also still two Little Ringed Plovers, a Greenshank and three juvenile Shelducks.
At RSPB Lochwinnoch, a Little Ringed Plover and three Mandarin Ducks on the scrape, also a three Common Sandpipers with another eight on Barr Loch.
Groups of 4, 5 and 10 Crossbills at BAE Systems, Bishopton.
 
Friday 18 July 2025
At RSPB Baron's Haugh, four Green Sandpipers, nine Common Sandpipers and now 196 Lapwings and three Dunlins, also still two Little Ringed Plovers, a Greenshank and three juvenile Shelducks.
At RSPB Lochwinnoch, a Little Ringed Plover and Osprey south over.
A Peregrine over Millichen.
 
Saturday 19 July 2025
At RSPB Baron's Haugh, seven Green Sandpipers, 11 Common Sandpipers and now 203 Lapwings, also still at least one Little Ringed Plover, a Greenshank and three juvenile Shelducks.
A Peregrine on University tower and two on City Chambers.
 
Sunday 20 July 2025
At RSPB Baron's Haugh, two Cattle Egrets (fourth record for Clyde and third for the area), 11 Green Sandpipers, 10 Common Sandpipers and a Greenshank.
16 Manx Shearwaters lingering off Wemyss Point, also a Minke Whale and six Porpoises moving south.
The Polish colour-ringed Mediterranean Gull at Battery Park, Greenock.
On the south side of the estuary, two Greenshanks back at Finlaystone Point with two Ospreys in the area, and two Little Egrets at Longhaugh Point, also seven Black-tailed Godwits.
On the north side, nine Little Egrets, a Knot and a Whimbrel at Ardmore North Bay.
At RSPB Lochwinnoch, four eclipse drake Mandarin Ducks and a Little Ringed Plover on the scrape.
11 Shelducks (nine juveniles} at their inland breeding site at South Medwin Pools.
A Hummingbird Hawk-moth and a Holly Blue in a Netherlee garden.

A Quail still singing in barley at South Medwin Pools, Dunsyre.
At RSPB Baron's Haugh, still 11 Green Sandpipers and a Greenshank, also now six Shelducks.

Ten Storm Petrels off the south coast of Arran.
At RSPB Baron's Haugh, now two Wood Sandpipers, a Ruff and at least four Green Sandpipers, also a Greenshank.
Two Greenshanks and a Little Ringed Plover on the RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape, also two Mandarin Ducks; nearby, a Sandwich Tern on Castle Semple Loch.
An adult Mediterranean Gull at Strathclyde Loch.
A Green Sandpiper and two Little Egrets at Longhaugh Point field pools, also a Peregrine.
A Comma in an Eaglesham garden.

A Quail still singing intermittently near South Medwin Pools; nearby, 22 Tree Sparrows at Walston.
At RSPB Baron's Haugh, still a Ruff, at least five Green Sandpipers and nine Common Sandpipers, also a Greenshank and 249 Lapwings.
Two Black-tailed Godwits and a Little Ringed Plover on the RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape, also four Mandarin Ducks.
Two Little Egrets and a Whimbrel at Longhaugh Point field pools, also eleven Sandwich Terns.
Three Sandwich Terns west over Kirk o' Shotts at 08.30.
48 Scotch Argus at Smiddy Cleugh, South Lanarkshire.
A Painted Lady in a Milngavie garden.
A Comma in an Eaglesham garden.
Two days ago on Loch Quien, Isle of Bute, an unseasonable Whooper Swan.

At RSPB Baron's Haugh, still a Wood Sandpiper, a Ruff, at least five Green Sandpipers and two Greenshanks, also last night an adult Mediterranean Gull. 
A Little Ringed Plover still on the RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape, also at least two Mandarin Ducks.

At RSPB Baron's Haugh, still a Wood Sandpiper, a Ruff, up to seven Green Sandpipers and a Greenshank.
Eight Little Egrets and a Common Tern at Ardmore.
Five Little Egrets across at Kelburn Park, Port Glasgow and an Osprey fishing off Langbank; further east, still three Green Sandpipers at Longhaugh Point field pools.
A good variety of butterflies recorded including Commas at Ardmore, Hamilton and Erskine, Speckled Woods at Ardmore, Painted Lady at Hamilton and still a Holly Blue in a Langside garden.
 
Wednesday 30 July 2025
At RSPB Baron's Haugh, still a Wood Sandpiper, a Ruff and up to five Green Sandpipers.
13 Little Egrets and a Whimbrel at Ardmore, also a red colour-ringed Peregrine over.
A Little Egret and four Dunlins at Endrick Mouth.
An adult and a juvenile Little Ringed Plover on scrape at RSPB Lochwinnoch, also on the trail an adult Spotted Flycatcher with two juveniles.
An Osprey west over Rosneath.

At RSPB Baron's Haugh, still a Ruff and now 259 Lapwings.
16 Little Egrets and a Whimbrel at Ardmore, also a Black-tailed Godwit.
Two adults and three juvenile Little Ringed Plovers on scrape at RSPB Lochwinnoch, also three Ospreys south over Barr Loch in the morning.
Two Ospreys at Hillend Loch, also a nice selection of waders.
Commas now widespread.
