Two Black-tailed Godwits (for a second day) on RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape, also two Dunlin.

Thursday 4 July 2024
Two Black-tailed Godwits still on RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape.

Friday 5 July 2024
Now 14 Black-tailed Godwits on RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape, also a Little Ringed Plover and another breeding record for the reserve of a Teal with eight ducklings.

Only one Black-tailed Godwit left on RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape, also still the Teal ducklings.

Now at least four Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh.
An Osprey at the entrance to Muirshiel Country Park.
 
Wednesday 10 July 2024
A Wood Sandpiper on RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape.
A Whimbrel at West Ferry, also 12 moulting Goldeneye off there.
At least three Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also now 73 Lapwings.
16 Ringed Plovers at Lilly Loch, Airdrie.

Two Mandarin Ducks on RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape, also a single Black-tailed Godwit before flying south in the morning.
A total of five Green Sandpipers between RSPB Baron's Haugh/Carbarns Pool.
 
Friday 12 July 2024
Two Green Sandpipers back at BAE System, Bishopton.
A Green Sandpiper at Balmore Pool.
26 Great Crested Grebes with seven young on Barr Loch, RSPB Lochwinnoch, also still two Mandarin Ducks on the scrape.
The eight Shelduck young at South Medwin Pools, Dunsyre are now fully fledged.

A juvenile Little Egret at Buchley Pool, also five juvenile Water Rails.

A Wood Sandpiper in flight south from Longhaugh Point field pools, also four Little Egrets and a Greenshank; across at Bowling, fledged Common Tern juveniles flying around the colony.
Two adult Little Ringed Plovers at Loudon Pond, Douglas Water.
Up to five Green Sandpipers, a Little Ringed Plover and a Greenshank at RSPB Baron's Haugh.
A Long-eared Owl, 13 Ringed Plovers and an Osprey at Lilly Loch, Airdrie.

Six Green Sandpipers and a Greenshank at RSPB Baron's Haugh.

Tuesday 16 July 2024
Three Sandwich Terns SE over Houston in the morning,
Six Green Sandpipers, two Black-tailed Godwits and three Greenshanks at RSPB Baron's Haugh.
Two Mandarin Ducks and two Redshanks on RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape,
also, still a remarkable 26 Great Crested Grebes with 16 young from eight pairs on Barr Loch.
A large moult flock of 1,000 Canada Geese at Loch Thom.

A Little Egret at Net Bay, RSPB Loch Lomond, also at least,180 Goosanders off the point.
A Little Egret still at Buchley Pool, also, an Osprey with a fish flying over towards Bardowie Loch.

Up to six Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also, two Greenshanks.
A Black-tailed Godwit and Greenshank on RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape, also two Mandarin Ducks.

Now 12 Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also, 39 Black-tailed Godwits and two Greenshanks.
Two Little Egrets at Parklea, two drake Pintails and an Osprey at Finlaystone Point, also, 25 Golden Plovers SE from Langbank.

A Mediterranean Gull and two Black-tailed Godwits at Battery Park, Greenock.
Two drake Common Scoters off Ardmore Point, also 50 Great Crested Grebes, three Little Egrets and 18 Grey Herons in the north bay.
Up to ten Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also, a single Black-tailed Godwit and a Greenshank.
Two different Ospreys at RSPB Lochwinnoch, also still two Mandarin Ducks on the scrape, and a record count of 49 (including 18 young) Great Crested Grebes with the 288 moulting Tufted Ducks on Barr Loch.
Four Greenshanks at Newshot Island, also four Water Rails showing.
180+ Goosanders off Aber Isle, Loch Lomond, also three Ospreys.

Three Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also, a single Black-tailed Godwit, a Greenshank and six Redshanks.
A Green Sandpiper at Balmore Pool; nearby, a family party of six Whinchats.
Up to five Ospreys at RSPB Lochwinnoch.
Purple Hairstreaks showing well at Boden Boo, Erskine and Mugdock Wood.

A Little Egret, two Greenshanks and four Black-tailed Godwits at Longhaugh Point, also five Sandwich Terns; nearby, an Osprey and unusually three Shoveler at Newshot Island.
An Osprey over Aird Meadow, RSPB Lochwinnoch in the morning, also three Otters there.
60 Manx Shearwaters between Isles of Arran and Bute,
A Holly Blue, almost exactly a year since first recorded sighting, in a Langside garden.

Three Arctic Skuas harassing terns off Wemyss Point.
25 Common Scoters, five Manx Shearwaters and two Kittiwakes off Cloch Point between 05.00-08.30, also four Bottlenose Dolphins.
A single Green Sandpiper at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also, a Greenshank and two Black-tailed Godwits.
An Osprey fishing at Harelaw Reservoir, Port Glasgow.
Still good numbers of wildfowl on Barr Loch, RSPB Lochwinnoch with 420 Tufted Ducks.
