The eclipse drake Mandarin Duck on RSPB Lochwinnoch scrape early morning, before flying off in the direction of Castle Semple Loch: also, an Otter showing well on Aird Meadow.

Autumn wader migration now underway yesterday on west side of Isle of Arran with four Sanderling, 25 Turnstone and 21 Ringed Plover at Blackwaterfoot, 22 Turnstone and 92 Ringed Plover at Dougarie, and 59 Golden Plover, 55 Ringed Plover and 18 Turnstone at Machriewaterfoot.
Still a Ruff and at least 17 Green Sandpipers (a record 22 recently) at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also now 24 Ringed Plovers and a good count of at least 65 Sand Martins.

Remarkably still 40 Swifts in screaming parties, around their breeding site in Lanark with smaller numbers noted over Torrance, East Kilbride and Newton Mearns.
